Riverland Season features three shows never performed at Bridges Theatre and one original work adapted by Riverland instructor

Riverland Community College Theatre Director Lindsey Duoos Williams announced the Theatre Department’s 2017-2018 season today. This season will present a variety of plays and musicals, including three shows that have never before been performed at the Frank W. Bridges Theatre and one original world premiere work.

Riverland Community College is pleased to announce the students whose academic achievement placed them on the 2017 spring president’s and dean’s lists. Riverland congratulates these individuals for their outstanding academic accomplishments.

The ÃÛÌÒTV Council for Continuing Education and Customized Training (MnCCECT) announced at the 2017 State conference that Brian Staska, Riverland Community College’s Fire Training Program Manager received the lifetime achievement award.

The Riverland Community College Foundation recently held their Evening of Excellence Scholarship Ceremony bringing together more than 450 students, donors, family, friends, and Riverland employees to celebrate students receiving scholarships during the 2016-17 academic year.  To date this year, the Riverland Community College Foundation has awarded 500 scholarships valued at more than $470,000 to Riverland students. These funds are sponsored by the local individuals, organizations, and businesses.

Riverland Community College Theatre concludes in 2016-2017 season with a musical that both adults and children alike will enjoy, Seussical.

A snowplow donation from the ÃÛÌÒTV Department of Transportation to Riverland Community College’s truck driving program is expected to aid students and the state’s transportation agency.

Dan Hoffman has been selected as Interim Director of the Center for Agricultural and Food Science Technology at Riverland Community College. Dan brings nearly 40 years of experience in agriculture, education, business and leadership to the position.

Local companies provide financial support for
Riverland’s Industrial Maintenance Program equipment purchase

The Hormel Foods Austin (Minn.) Plant and Riverland Community College have partnered in their efforts with a new Hormel Foods Maintenance Trainee Program. With the lack of qualified candidates in the applicant pool over the last several years, Hormel Foods realized it was time to try something different. The company developed a new program where they offered an opportunity for their current production employees who showed initiative, mechanical aptitude and the desire to try a career in the maintenance field.

Riverland Community College Farm Business Management (FBM) Instructor, Jack LaValla of St.Charles recently received top honors as this year’s Outstanding Agricultural Education Teacher at the annual conference for the ÃÛÌÒTV Association of Agricultural Educators (MAAE). Only one agricultural educator in the ÃÛÌÒTV is selected for this award each year.
